During recent years, an increasing demand has been experienced in the stationary diesel engine market for large diesel units that are reliable and fuel efficient to suit power plants in the range of 30-250 MW, based on cost effective refinery residuals. This demand is being met by modern marine-derivative medium speed diesel GenSets and, for the larger units, by two-stroke low speed crosshead uni-flow scavenged diesel engines, capable of burning almost any fuel available on the market, whether liquid or gaseous.
