Hand-moulded castings are the focus of the MAN Diesel foundry, situated in Augsburg.

The product range comprises cast iron with lamella graphite to EN 1561 and with spheroidal graphite to EN 1563, both unalloyed and low alloyed. Even extremely complex castings are completed with high dimensional accuracy, using computer-based simulation of solidification and mould-filling processes as well as an independent quality inspection.

Component sizes up to 11000 x 4500 x 3000 mm and unit weights up to 110 tons can be handled. All castings are moulded by hand with state-of-the-art cold-resin sand/solid-form techniques. The Augsburg foundry also offers its expertise in design and materials during all development and design phases.

Pattern making is another speciality of the foundry, covering patterns up to 12000 x 4000 x 3000 mm at all levels of complexity and all quality grades to EN 1511.
