- MAN B&W Diesel A/S, Denmark, has been awarded the contract to supply a complete propulsion package, including computer controlled surveillance, for Dalian Maritime University’s new 2250-ton ocean-going training ship.
- 01/08/2005, LNG Carriers with Gas Burning Low Speed Engines
- MAN B&W Diesel is closely cooperating with major Korean shipyards, Samsung, Daewoo and Hyundai on use of ME-GI engines for LNG carriers. Work is now being finalised on the Hazid/Hazop safety study for the entire gas supply system from LNG tanks including vapourizer gas compressors and oxidizers, as well as internal gas system on the electronically controlled ME-GI dual fuel low-speed MAN B&W Diesel engines.
- 19/07/2005, Thermo Efficiency System Reduces Fuel Costs and CO2
- MAN B&W Diesel's original TES concept of combining a power turbine and a turbo generator has been updated and optimised for today's larger MC and ME range of engines. TES offers owners an efficient method of generating electricity, via waste heat recovery and efficiency utilisation, while providing savings in both fuel consumption and a reduction in CO2 emission – all without affecting shaft output.
